"So I really don't like working on too many layers." Hell Yeah !!! I think you fells more like painting in real life without Ctrl+Z and layers tweaks. I love working like that too ^^

Really useful tutorial I think, thanks for sharing one of the way you do your beautiful artworks =)

Are you making ALL your works like that?
Or mby u sometimes just draw loose stains or lines with brush, and THEN you try to pull out the light?

No. As I said in the tutorial I often change my work flow.  Sometimes I skip line art or just do it very rough.

Wow, thanks for doing this. I've been struggling to find a good painting tutorial besides the good old "how to paint anime eyes", but this really helps! Not sure if I'll ever get into digital painting though because new things are scary.

Wow, this was a good tutorial. I usually skip tuts that don't appeal to me with their final image. Yours looked good enough to check out. However, you might want to start your tuts with close ups, because the pics tend to look small in places like the "undiscovered" section of DA's main page.

First of all - the back piece is one of the most creatively designed things I've seen. Second the concept for an undead scroll carrier is creative in itself. The horns on the staff as the extention of the wooden shaft is another great idea. So are scrolls as the tail of his robe. And candles on the backpiece. I also like the giant scroll on his back. The colouring is superb. The whole thing looks great.

Though I'd personally prefer a more sceletal face (but that's just me).

Thank you. Yeah I could have done a lot of things better. I will try and incorporate the things you suggested with the next one.

About the skeletal face, I plan on doing more of these undead guys. I am sure a few of 'em will have more skeletal faces ;)

I forgot to mantion that black fonto on dark grey backgr. is a tad hard to read, expecially in daylight. Just so you know:)

That's how I get dressed in the morning.
